Welcome to
Benton, the seat of Bossier Parish, is in the northeast section of the
state. It's served by State Highways 3 and 162.
Bossier Parish offers a variety of attractions. Linked together by the
nation's largest neon-lit bridge, Shreveport and Bossier City offer
abundant shopping, accommodations and fabulous specialty foods such as
Tex-Mex, Cajun, French, Italian and Oriental.
Downtown Benton (Restoration Square) features the circa 1845 Hughes
House, the 1884 Heath Log Cabin, a circa 1900 one-room schoolhouse and
Horseshoe cabin.
Louisiana's subtropical weather is
as diverse as its people. Spring and fall are simply paradise here and
winters can be downright balmy. Cool drinks and cool clothing are
recommended June through August. Bring your shorts in the summer, a
coat in winter and an umbrella just in case. |
